History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Korfel grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Korfel. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Varis hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his poetry career. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While he appears to be a normal Elf, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Cartwright born in the past three hundred years. He is obsessed with his god.

History: He was raised in a island tribe. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Cartwright for the past few years.
