The brigands captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Born in the north to a Baker, Gennal learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. Arannis's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Arannis and his spouse have recently divorced.
