History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Berrian was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Berrian decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He is harsh and unforgiving.

History: Born in the east to a Brewer, Naill learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A gifted student he started as a Bellfounder, but he got bored and became a Brewer. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is envious of other's things. He hoards treasure, art, food, wine, and anything that he so desires. He constantly seizes attention wherever he goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. He likes to think of himself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He has never given up on his writing dream.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Efferil liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. The war was a terrible time for him, and Varis does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was raised in a island tribe. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
