Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Through the years after Theren was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Theren's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
