History: Arannis lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. In the meantime he has taken over work as a Spy and occasionally as a mercenary.

Motivation: Wants to raise his children well; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

Description: Runty and weak-looking, he dresses in collared shirts and wears a proper scarf over his head. His hair, while still mostly black, has prominent grey streaks. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines blue.

Personality: Varis hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his poetry career. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. Now he works as a poetry tutor during his time off.
