Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. A true patriot, Raer would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. In his 18th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He's also a talented Jeweler, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
