However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the goblins.

History: Born to a Bellfounder, his father struggled to pay the bills. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Theren was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
