Personality: He hates gnolls. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Varis grew up listening to his mother's many stories. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

History: Nutae was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Nutae grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Nutae. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Nutae was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of freemasons.
