History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Elven conditions. He has dedicated himself to building a better world.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Varis fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
