However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off his debts

Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Junk Dealer they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Miner, and he later adopted a second daughter.
