History: He was born into a rich family. Through the years after Varis was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Varis's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. He is skeptical of what others tell him and is slow to trust.

History: He was born in the north. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and to unite with his brother
