He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Nim was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Nim's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He wants revenge against illithids; and many illithids want him driven away

Upon awakening, Galinndan discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves.
