Description: A middle-aged man, he wears rags and sports a simple walking cane, and is pretty ugly. He has done his best to style his auburn hair to look like a famous performer. His face is scarred and worn.

Personality: He hates gnolls. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age his father died while driving off some gnolls. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in shield use. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Arannis fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He is stubborn though. He always likes to keep a trick up his sleeve. He likes to fight dirty and will kick and punch below the belt if he feels he even has a chance of losing.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and a rival would like him out of the picture

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Paelias abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: To protect his home; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Rolen was born with his father's beautiful face. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Rolen fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He has a small toy that he constantly fidgets with.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Quarion grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Quarion. He has achieved small success as a Sage.
