History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His mother was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Wants his loneliness to end; and he's in love

He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and a rival would like him out of the picture

History: Laucian lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He has since lost track of the people in his past.
