The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Eiravel took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up ceremonial dagger and armor he uses now. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
