History: Born in the west to a Carter, Thervan learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear; and he feels threatened by others

Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: A child with a great deal of singing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. Being a Sailor kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.
