Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Varis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Varis. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Weaver.

History: Born in the south to a Blacksmith, Peren learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His childhood dream was to be a Bellfounder, but he was a colossal failure. He has worked as a Blacksmith like his father before him.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He now mingles about in high society.
