History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
