He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying north to reunite his family. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Heian was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: His necromantic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When Korfel reached his early adolescence his Elf father passed away.
