Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Paelias is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Paelias grew up listening to his mother's many stories. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.
