He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. After a long history of fighting, Aelar and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Paelias was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Like his mother and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Carpenter. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Performer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
