He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born in the north, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

He would rather hide behind his crafts than deal with other people.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Dreali never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
