He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Heian was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: He was born in a small plains village. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Dayereth grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Dayereth. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Cook. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
