History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Weaver arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Paelias grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Paelias. He's also a talented Mayor, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.
