History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Laucian was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He does not care much for physical appearances, nor does he care much for other people. He does however care about what he wants and getting it. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
