History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He wants revenge against illithids; and many illithids want him driven away

Description: A man with thick toned arms and a paunchy gut. He is constantly adorned with expensive silk clothing, often dyed in bright violet and grey, and wears rings and necklaces with large, colorful gems. His golden hair is long and unkept. His thin eyebrows rest above his beady hazel eyes.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He is fiercely devoted to his father, and views his father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-sister.

History: Peren hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and many illithids want him driven away

He wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment. His chestnut hair is long and unkept. He wears a mask on his face.

Personality: He is filled with cunning. He likes to feign weakness letting people think he is weak. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Efferil was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.
