History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud.
