It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: The child of a Ruler, who enjoyed hunting, Peren was taken on many hunting expeditions. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister.
