However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Thervan's homeland. Thervan decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. After a long history of fighting, Thervan and his spouse have recently divorced.
