Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting dire rats, the young Korfel began to lead the lost caravan. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. He is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. He likes to tell stories.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Lucan was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
