To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Eiravel. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Fivin's homeland. Fivin decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He became a Tanner soon after.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
