Personality: Aust is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Aust was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. After coming to the age of reason, Varis took it upon himself to study the divine arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Varis never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.
