History: Berrian was raised in a hard working conservative environment. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the forest to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Berrian took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up axe and armor he uses now. He has achieved small success as a Glassblower.

History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the east. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Arannis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
