History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Thervan was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Thervan was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Thervan's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.
