History: He was born into a rich family. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Varis was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. Being a Layabout kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact
