He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Halimath was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Merchant hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day

History: Born in the south to a Spy, Lamlis learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Spy work with an outfit from a few towns over. Spy work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
