History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Vanuath was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Caeldrim's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
