Personality: Varis speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He pushes his goals aggressively. He is also a coward if confronted.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Mason arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
