History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. Being a Spice Merchant kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Personality: He has two modes he varies between. On the job he is cold, steely and emotionless. Off the job he is a party animal. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was born in the east. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Healer work with an outfit from a few towns over. Healer work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Sage for hire.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with poetry. He constantly tries to fill his life with poetry. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
