History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His father had died from a severe disease that was unknown to the village doctor. Hadarai was heart-stricken from the event, and his mother started working long hours to provde for them. History: He was born into a rich family. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He tends to his Shipwright job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.
