History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. At a young age his mother died while driving off some dire rats. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in longsword use. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and many dire rats want him driven away

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.
