After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: His necromantic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. History: He was born into a rich family. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Bookbinder.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. When Paelias reached his early adolescence his Elf father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Guard responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: Nim lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Through the years after Nim was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Nim's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He struck the Carter job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: He seems to be bored by most things; and doesn't want to be a carter and was forced into it by his family
