History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Through the years after Carrie was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Carrie's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Personality: He is business-like. He takes instructions and follows them to the letter. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Theren never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and a deep hatred of giants

History: Theriatis lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. As a very small child his family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. His father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
