History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Like his father and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Herbalist. He tends to his Herbalist job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Varis took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up mace and armor he uses now. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: To pay off his debts; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it
