The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Priest for hire.
