Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. The war was a terrible time for him, and Caeldrim does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. After a long history of fighting, Varis and his spouse have recently divorced.

When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He moved out west to avoid the crime he committed. He has since lost track of the people in his past.
