Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He feeds upon the attention of others.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
