To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Hadarai. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Aelar was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Aelar decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with.
