History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Raer was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Raer fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He bought a rapier and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Description: An older man who wears a simple burlap shirt and baggy pants. He conceals his bastard sword with his veritable burlap sack of a shirt, he is not a threatening figure. His silver hair is greasy and uncared for. This brown eyed westerner is not easily forgotten.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Gardener born in the past three hundred years. Aerdeth is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his sisters into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
