He has taken up work as a Dilettante and fed both sides of the war false information with the goal of increasing casualties.

The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He became a Stableman soon after.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
